Aghyaran continue bright start

KILLYCLOGHER’S start to life under new manager Mark Henry has begun brightly and they sit top of group one following their second win in as many weeks after they defeated Moy 3-12 to 2-09.

Their nearest challengers at present are Carrickmore and Dungannon who played out a 0-9 to 0-9 draw following a clash that saw a player from each side sent off. In the other two games played, Pomeroy picked up their first win of the season when beating Ardboe 2-11 to 0-9 and Errigal Ciaran won comfortably at Loughmacrory.

In group two, it’s Coalisland who lead the way after their second win in as many games, a 2-13 to 0-9 home victory over Omagh, while Clonoe are just a point behind following their 2-9 to 0-15 draw at Derrylaughan.

Meanwhile, Dromore won 2-10 to 0-13 at Galbally, and Trillick defeated Donaghmore 1-14 to 0-13.

In division two group one, Edendork are the only side with a perfect record after thrashing Naomh Eoghan 0-12 to 7-18, with Stewartstown and Rock a point adrift. Stewartstown were held to a 1-15 to 2-12 draw at home by Owen Roes, while Rock won by just a point at Greencastle.

In group two, Aghyaran, Aghaloo and Beragh continued their winning starts to the season on Sunday. The former racked up a convincing 5-11 to 2-10 win at Augher, while Aghaloo overcame Strabane Sigersons 3-14 to 0-11 and the latter enjoyed a narrow 1-12 to 1-10 home success over Gortin. In the other game played, Clogher lost narrowly 0-14 to 2-9 at home against Eglish.

In group one of division three, Drumquin took sole possession of top spot thanks to a 1-10 to 0-6 win at Brockagh, while Castlederg, Cookstown and Urney remain hot on their heels following draws apiece. In the other game played, the thirds of Errigal Ciaran came out on top over their Coalisland counterparts by 5-7 to 1-3.

Group two of division three sees Eskra and Kildress on top after each recorded their second win in as many games against Killyman and by way of walkover against Killeeshill respectively. In the other games played, Derrytresk and Fintona played out a 1-11 to 1-11 draw, while Glenelly defeated Drumragh 1-10 to 0-10.
