ALL roads will lead to Holy Cross College parkrun in Strabane this Saturday as it hosts the Winter Wellness for Women Series, aimed at raising levels of female participation in local sport.
Awarded by Triathlon Ireland to Strabane Triathlon Club only a few days ago, one of only eight recipients of the award, the local parkrun will give local women the opportunity to turn up to run, jog or walk the parkrun in a safe, inclusive environment before socialising over a coffee and listening to leading local women discuss how sport has impacted on there lives.
This week’s guest speaker will be local athlete and Irish international elite marathon runner Ann-Marie McGlynn, who will be available to share her expertise on training and performing at an elite level, and participants will get an opportunity to ask questions as well.
Each event is completely free to take part, and open to all women in the local area. Everyone is welcome regardless of previous sporting experience, and anyone looking for a recorded time is advised to register beforehand at the parkrun website: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/?section=form.
Finally, if anyone has any questions in relation to any of this, or would like to forward questions to the guest speaker, please do not hesitate to contact Strabane Triathlon Club via the club Facebook page.
