Fixture Plans include splitting Divisions

The three divisions of the Tyrone All-County Leagues will each be split into two groups for the 2020 season, under proposals issued to Clubs.

 

The Tyrone Fixtures’ Review Committee and the County Management Committee have prepared a programme of fixtures at adult and youth levels.

 

The major change being proposed during this pandemic emergency is to amend the adult football leagues where each existing division would be sub-divided into two groups, thereby offering a minimum of seven competitive games to each participating team.

 

On completion of the League the top team in both groups of a division will playoff for the League title and Promotion to the next highest division for the 2021 season (where applicable). The bottom two teams in each group of a division will be involved in a relegation playoff match (where applicable).

 

These leagues would commence on 31st July and, on completion of the first four rounds, the three football championships (JFC, IFC and SFC) would begin, based on the existing draws and with all matches being played to a conclusion on the day.

 

The Tyrone Senior and Intermediate Championship Finals have been pencilled in for Sunday September 20th, with the Tyrone Junior Championship Final to be played on Sunday October 4th.

 

The Reserves and Senior Leagues begin with a double header on the weekend of Friday July 31st (6.45pm and 8.15pm) and Sunday August 2nd (2.15pm and 3.45pm).

 

It is understood that Tyrone clubs have until Tuesday of this week to respond to the plans for the revised Fixtures programme.
