Owen Roes…..0-10
Naomh Eoghan..0-09
SUBSTITUTE Niall McAleer proved to be the Owen Roes hero with the winning score as the hosts held off a determined Naomh Eoghan side in a tense, low scoring local derby on Friday night.
There was a lot at stake at the business end of the Intermediate table and that was demonstrated with no quarter asked for or given in a contest that saw the respective defences on top.
The visitors led 0-5 to 0-4 at the interval and that score still separated the two sides with seven minutes of normal time left on the clock. Conor O’Neill’s seventh point of the night levelled matters before McAleer’s winner, the only time that his side led in the contest.
On the night the winners had good performances from keeper Andy Devine, midfielder Tony Devine and O’Neill up front while Naomh Eoghan were best served by Damian Donnelly, James Duffy, Kevin Gallagher and Aidan McSorley.
