NAOMH Eoghan manager Seosamh MacCeallabhuí says he is full of admiration for the many people who have moved heaven and earth to give the newly amalgamated club every chance of viability in the long-run.
Newtownstewart and Dregish made the decision to join forces at the end of 2019, and their first season went reasonably well, holding their own in Division Two during a particularly destabilising year for us all.
They’ve now moved to appoint Donegal native MacCeallabhuí as their new manager – the man who led Donegal side Red Hugh’s to the Ulster Junior Championship title in 2018 before linking up with Tyrone native Paul Rouse at Ballybofey club Sean Mac Cumhaill’s.
MacCeallabhuí can’t wait for restrictions to be lifted so he can get fully involved at his new role, but the excitement within the new club is obvious even though he’s physically removed at present.
“I haven’t set foot in the place but I’ve talked to a lot of the people involved and there’s a genuine sense of excitement in the area,” he said.
