Red hot Wolfe Tones run riot against Urney

URNEY suffered a 26 point shellacking at the hands of red hot Kildress in Killyclogher on Sunday afternoon, as the Wolfe Tones stormed through to the last four of the Junior Championship.

This was a sobering experience for everyone associated with the North Tyrone club who had no answer to the pace, intensity and finishing prowess of their opponents.

Matthew McGuigan top scored for Kildress with two goals and eight points, but they were a scoring threat across the board, making light of what on paper seemed an evenly matched contest.

Callum Holland, Dean McNally, Shea Murphy, Enda McAleer and Caolan McNamee were among those to shine for the victors in the scorching heat, as they sent out a clear statement of intent to those still in the reckoning for the Pat Darcy Cup.

The match was as good as over by the 15 mark with Kildress powering into a 3-5 to 0-1 advantage. After Conor Quinn and Jamie McAleer (free) traded early points the floodgates opened with the Tones running amok.
