Kirsty McGuinness was again the star of the show with a sparkling hat-trick as Sion made it four victories out of five.

Erin Fildara and McGuinness struck to give the visitors an early advantage before Claire Rooney pulled a goal back for the Reds.

Leontia McVarnock restored Sion’s two goal cushion however Niamh Connolly replied for the home side to leave the minumum between the sides at the interval.

Sion though were far from done. Goals by McGuinness and Kerry Brown either side of the sending off of Cliftonville’s Megan Moran put Tony McGinley’s team firmly in the driving seat.

The Reds though refused to throw in the towel and a Marissa Callaghan double – the second of which came from the penalty spot – put the outcome back in the melting pot before McGuinness settled any Sion jitters by completing her three hit in the penultimate minute.

Next week Sion entertain Crusaders.
