County champions Dungannon began their new season with defeat to Derrylaughan.
The Clarkes trailed 0-3 to 0-1 at half time but ended up losing by 1-8 to 0-9.
There was an exciting game in Killyclogher, who beat Coalisland by a point. In a four goal thriller, Coalisland had led by 1-6 to 0-4, but three goals in the second half saw the St Mary’s win by 2-10 to 2-9. The winner was kicked by Tiernan Cox from a free.
Errigal Ciaran and Trillick played out a real battle. There was only a point between them at half time, and in the second half Trillick pulled away to win 0-13 to 0-9.
Dromore beat Clonoe by 0-18 to 0-11 in a game they controlled for large parts.
Carrickmore and Donaghmore played out a good battle, though Carrickmore were in front for most of the game. The Moy edged out Eglish by a point thanks to a second half goal having trailed by a point at half time. Michael Conroy scored 1-4 for the Moy, his goal from a penalty (won by Ryan Coleman) and his four points were from frees. The Moy’s only score from play was scored by Paddy Lavery.
Loughmacrory did just enough to see off Ardboe. They led by two points at half time depsite having conceded a first half goal. And ended up winning by a single point. Omagh and Galbally couldn’t be separated, 1-7 apiece.
There were some close ties in Division two. Notably Kildress beat Beragh thanks to a late score, 1-12 to 1-11. Agharyan defeated Tattyreagh, 1-11 to 1-7 and Killeeshil’s goal earned them a 1-9 to 0-9 win over Moortown.
In Division three the eye catching result was Drumragh’s 1-10 to 1-6 win over Drumquin.
