Greencastle enjoyed a straightforward win against Aghaloo on Saturday afternoon.

The result was obvious from early on. Greencastle were 0-4 to no score ahead in the first five minutes then Ryan Gumley hit the net to make it 1-4 to 0-0.

Aghaloo did rally and got a few points on the board, and a score from Niall McElroy left the scoreline at 1-5 to 0-3, but Greencastle kept piling on the pressure and when Mark Carson hit the final point of the half they were 1-7 to 0-4 ahead.

Greencastle outscored Aghaloo by 0-6 to 0-3 in the first 15 minutes of the second half, and led 1-13 to 0-7. Peter Teague got two of those six Greencastle points, Patrick McElhatton, Mark Carson and Cahir McCullagh scored the rest.

They didn’t score during the final quarter of the game, Aghaloo did score a goal through Conor Mullen, but they couldn’t get closer than four points from Greencastle.
