OMAGH Integrated PS, Nursery & Pre-School is a grant maintained Primary School catering for pupils aged between three and 11 years of age, with capacity to admit 50 nursery age pupils and up to 60 Year One pupils.
Omagh Integrated PS is situated just a short distance from the town centre in an idyllic, semi-rural setting. Here, our pupils enjoy the surroundings and facilities of a new, modern, state-of-the art building, set alongside Drumragh Integrated College to form the Omagh Integrated Campus.
ETHOS
We provide an inclusive learning environment where children and young people from Protestant and Catholic backgrounds, as well as those of other faiths and none can learn with, from and about each other. We promote equality, faith and values, parental involvement and social responsibility as we aim to develop every aspect of a child’s or young person’s potential. ETI recently highlighted our particularly strong pastoral care which is evident in all areas of school life.
NURSERY AND PRE-SCHOOL
Once again, this September, we are delighted to be offering an additional 24 IEF (Integrated Education Fund) funded places for pre-school age pupils to add to the 26 on offer in our nursery unit, allowing our school to accept 50 pupils of nursery age in September 2021. Both our nursery and pre-school classes cater for children in their pre-school year and who are eligible to start compulsory education and join Year One the following September.
In each setting, our highly-trained and qualified staff work in partnership with parents to offer children stimulating, challenging and positive play experiences, through which they can grow and become independent, developing to their full potential. The caring and secure surroundings of the nursery and pre-school settings provide an environment which builds the bridge between home and pre-school and help our pupils prepare for the move to Year One.
TRANSITION TO YEAR ONE
We have the capacity to accept up to 60 Year One pupils to our school, ensuring that our nursery/pre-school pupils can enjoy a seamless transition into our primary school. Here, our youngest pupils continue to enjoy a wide variety of practical activities that help develop their intellectual, social, emotional and physical skills. Staff allow pupils to build upon their own interests and natural curiosity as they explore, investigate, problem-solve and make decisions.
HIGH QUALITY TEACHING
We pride ourselves on the high standard of education provided in our school, which our most recent inspection report identified as ranging to outstanding. Our Year 7 pupils leave us each year to continue their education as confident, independent learners, highly skilled in all areas of the curriculum.
OUR SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
Our pupils are fortunate to be able to enjoy a fully equipped, modern school building. Each classroom offers a spacious, comfortable learning environment, equipped with the very latest technology to enhance teaching and learning. Our pupils enjoy access to a dedicated UICT suite able to support a full class, a library, additional learning spaces and resource areas for each class, rooms for music tuition and a multi-purpose hall.
WRAP AROUND CARE
To help support parents, we offer Wrap Around Care that allows for our Year 1–7 pupils to attend Breakfast Club each morning from 8- 8.30am, before class begins. Pupils can also avail of our onsite childcare provision after school, through OIPS Friends’ After School Club which operates until at least 5.15pm each day.
