Dromore are Tyrone county champions for the first time since 2011 after a dominant second-half display helped them to a 0-15 to 0-8 win over Coalisland at Healy Park this evening.
Colm McCullagh’s side were exceptional after the break, out-scoring their opponents 0-10 to 0-3 to help them to their fourth title, all of those arriving in the last 15 seasons.
It was the Na Fianna side who looked sharpest in the first half with Paddy McNeice causing mayhem in the opening exchanges with two fabulous points to start the game.
Dromore started to find their feet, inspired by a wonder score from Emmett McNabb in the eighth minute, but Coalisland still held a two-point lead heading towards half time.
Odhran Rafferty and Sean McNabb hit points though to ensure that the sides went in level, 0-5 to 0-5.
Dromore started the second half on the front foot with Emmett McNabb (5), Niall Sludden and Ryan McCusker finding their range to leave Dromore in complete control heading into the final 10 minutes.
Coalisland needed a goal but Dromore were happy to sit and counter with Sean McNabb, Cahir Goodwin and Odhran Rafferty adding to their tally to spark wild celebrations.
McNeice fought gamely for Coalisland in the second half and scored another two points while Cathaoir Quinn was also on target, but in the end it was Dromore’s day and they now march onto Ulster.
Carrickmore will host that game as they face the winners of Enniskillen Gaels and Derrygonnelly on December 4.
