Semi-Final line up comfirmed for Jim Devlin Cup

The semi final pairings for this season’s Jim Devlin Cup are holders Dromore v Trillick and Donaghmore v Eglish after the opening knockout games were played over the weekend.

Donaghmore came from behind at half-time at Father Campbell Park to beat Coalisland by the minimum margin. The Fianna led 2-3 to 0-7 at the interval thanks to goals from Paddy McNeice and James McCann, Cormac Drayne with a couple of two pointers for the visitors with Tom Grimes also on target.

An early second half goal from Conor Cush got Donaghmore up and running with Sean Donnelly and Thomas McGuigan tagging on points. Tiernan Quinn responded for the Fianna with a number of points including a brace of two pointers from frees with Cormac O’Hagan getting on the scoresheet as well but a goal from Peter McKenna in the final quarter proved decisive for Donaghmore.

Eglish made the short trip to play Moy and they secured a resounding 2-22 to 0-15 win. The St.Patricks laid the foundations for their victory in the first half as they established a 1-12 to 0-3 lead. Luke Donnelly scored the goal from the penalty spot and added a few points with Turlough Muldoon, Emmet McKenna and Seamus Muldoon also on target.

In the second half Ryan Coleman and Declan Conroy took their combined total to a dozen points for the home side with Ryan McAlary and Michael Conroy also on target but they were always playing catch up.

Donnelly hit a second major on his sway to a personal haul of 2-7 while the winners also had scoring contributions from defenders Conal McNulty and Nathan Horsfield as well as midfield duo Matthew McGleenan and Conor McCann.

Dromore produced a strong last twenty minutes to come from behind to beat Carrickmore away from home. The St.Dympnas edged the opening period 0-7 to 0-6 with Paudie Dillon showing well up front with a coupe of scores and John MacRory also on target. Danny Fullerton and Ruairi Loughran both weighed in with two pointers in the opening half for the St.Colmcilles with Stephen Grogan also on target.

Efforts from Grogan and Rory Donnelly saw the lead change hands early in the second half but then Dromore assumed control. Dillion kicked another few points with Oran Sludden and Ryan McCusker also on target with a goal from the latter helping to give the winners breathing space. The two semi finals of the competition will take place next Saturday.
