Young Camogs cruise past Mayo to make All-Ireland Final

Tyrone produced a dominant display in the All-Ireland Minor ‘C’ Camogie Championship semi-final, sweeping past Mayo with a comprehensive 6-15 to 0-7 victory last weekend at Dungannon

From the first whistle, Tyrone were in control, with Emer Cunningham quickly opening the scoring with a point. Aoife Grogan followed up with a well-taken goal, setting the tone for the Red Hands. Cunningham, in sparkling form, added a flurry of points—several from distance and one set up beautifully by Grogan—showcasing her accuracy and composure under pressure.

Tyrone’s attacking unit combined beautifuly, with Catherine Moohan, Gemma Daly, and Tess Daly all getting on the scoresheet. Tess Daly’s goal and Sorcha Hughes’ well-timed finish helped Tyrone surge into a commanding 3-11 to 0-1 lead by halftime, with Mayo’s only response coming from a Marissa Collins free.

The second half continued in a similar vein. Cunningham kept the scoreboard ticking over, and Clare McKee added another Tyrone goal, kicking to the net with confidence. Mayo showed flashes of resistance through points from Aisling Dooley, Ava King, Molly Farrell, and the tireless Collins, who battled hard from midfield and was Mayo’s standout player.

But Tyrone weren’t finished. Aoife Grogan found the net twice more, completing a superb personal tally, and added a point for good measure. Late points from McKee and Ellen Rose McKeever sealed the deal in a game where Tyrone’s teamwork and intensity shone.

It was an excellent team performance from Tyrone, with standout displays from Emer Cunningham, who finished with a remarkable 0-10, Aoife Grogan (3-2), and goalkeeper Holly Croucher, who marshalled her defence well. Captain Niamh McElduff led by example throughout, driving her side forward from midfield.

Tyrone now march on to the All-Ireland final full of confidence after this emphatic win.
