A 23-YEAR-OLD man from Omagh appeared before Strabane Magistrates Court today accused of engaging in sexual communication with a person under the age of 16.
Alex McIlhatton was connected to the single charge by a police officer in court and said that he understood the charge against him.
The communication is said to have taken place last month on dates between April 22 and 24.
McIlhatton was released on court bail under strict conditions that include; no communication with anyone under the age of 18; no contact with anyone under the age of 18; he is allowed possession of one mobile phone which must be made available for the police to search at any time and he is not allowed to use any other Internet-enabled devices.
McIlhatton’s bail address was not made available to the press and was not read out in open court.
He will appear before Omagh Magistrates Court on May 27.
