GOALS rained in during some lively Division 3B Round Two encounters and the Friday exchanges also featured a landmark moment for Omagh St Enda’s thirds as they secured a first junior league success.
Opening night winners in Division 3B had comprised Errigal Ciaran III, Tattyreagh, Derrytresk, Brackaville and Clann na nGael. There were follow-up victories in the second round for Clann na nGael, Brackaville, Derrytresk and Tattyreagh plus Omagh St Enda’s recorded that breakthrough victory as the new team on the junior scene.
The St Enda’s had staged a decent first round show despite defeat to Tattyreagh and the St Enda’s made sure of success at the second time of asking through a 0-17 to 1-11 home verdict over Urney. The St Columba’s scored the only goal of proceedings but Omagh’s point-taking in single and double terms held the key to that opening triumph.
Brackaville and Donaghmore thirds met in tie that served up no fewer than fourteen goals, seven from each side. The home Roes tagged on 19 points to their tally as Shea Fee and Ronan McHugh were among several to make scoreboard contributions.
The visiting St Patrick’s, though, battled with plenty of spirit as scores from Ryan Mullan (2-1), Sean McCaul (2-1), Deasun Quinn (1-4), Aodhan Molloy (1-0), Nathan Toner (1-0) and Dan Toner (0-2) kept them in the mix.
Derrytresk had home advantage for a tight loughshore derby with Brocagh and they were glad of a goal in each half to eventually see off the determined Emmets 2-8 to 0-11 after the sides shared level scores over half-time. Brocagh’s Barry Donnelly had 0-4, including a 2-pointer. Michael Hughes also scored 0-4 for Brocagh. Liam Slater and Cathal O’Neill scored the home goals, with Odhran Hughes claiming 0-3.
Clann na nGael welcomed the St Mary’s of Killeeshil to North Tyrone where the hosts made it two wins from two games thus far.
Robbie Conway netted the game’s solitary goal and Ronan McVeigh sent over three points for the St Mary’s.
