Motorists have been advised to seek an alternative route after a collision outside of the Ulster American Folk Park.
A police spokesperson said, “Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A5 between Omagh and Newtownstewart, near the American Folk Park.
“The road is closed in this area and will remain so for some time.
“Please use alternative routes, with diversions suggested via Gortin, Baronscourt or Drumquin.
“Plan your journey accordingly and expect delays.”
It is believed that an Air Ambulance unit attended the scene.
