ACL Div3B round up: Five wins from five for ‘Hill’ men

IT was top versus bottom on Wednesday night in ACL Division 3B as Derrytresk played host to Donaghmore and the result went according to the formbook as the men from the Hill made it five wins from five to leave the visitors still chasing their opening points of the campaign.

Caolan Corr bagged what proved to be the only goal of the game early on and Derrytresk never looked back. They led 1-6 to 0-4 at the break with Liam Slater, Keenan Donaghy and Ronan Molloy among the points for their respective sides.

Derrytresk were out of the blocks quickly on the restart and within ten minutes they had ended the game as a contest having outscored their opponents 0-6 t 0-1. Slater, Caolan O’Donnell, PJ O’Neill, Cathal O’Neill and Shea McConville all registered for the winners with Molly, Dan Toner and Ryan Mullan on target for Donaghmore.

Killyman picked up only their second win of the campaign when they were surprise but fully merited victors at home to Omagh IIIs. The evergreen Enda McGahan was once again to the fore for the St.Marys landing 0-7 with Gary Hamill not far behind him with 1-3 to his name.

Ciaran Lagan got both Omagh goals while the likes of Eamon McMahon, Niall McCarney and Adam Groogan featured among their points but it was Killyman’s night as they came through on a 2-14 to 2-11 score line with Oisin Gates getting their other major and Eamon Donnelly weighing in with a trio of points.

Clann na Gael prevented Brackaville from going joint second in the table after prevailing 2-12 to 1-12 on home soil to make it three wins from five outings.

Shea Browne was again in superb form for the hosts with eight points to his name with Robbie Conway notching 1-2 and Conor Harkin scoring their other goal. Callum Coyle raised a green flag for the Roes with Jason O’Neill knocking over four points and Ronan McHugh and Dale McSorley getting a brace each for the visitors but they just came up short.

At the fifth time of asking Brocagh finally got their first points on the board when they emerged 2-12 to 2-7 winners over Errigal Ciaran III at Dunmoyle.

Enda McGuckin and Dan Deehan were the goal scorers for the Emmetts with Mickey Hughes again in fine form contributing 0-8 to the cause with Cathal Donnelly getting a couple as well.

Former Tyrone star Davy Harte top scored for his side with 1-3 with Niall McCartan getting their other goal and Chris Kelly firing over a brace of points.
