Land Your Dream Job

We all have an idea in our head of what our dream job would be. Whether it’s working for a specific company, helping other people, or leading a team in the right creative direction. You probably have an image in your mind’s eye of what you, your lifestyle and your working environment look like.

To make this dream a reality, will take guts, determination, courage and positive attitude and you can be that it won’t happen over night. But if you put the work in, and you’re willing to take a risk or two, there’s no reason that you couldn’t have the job that you’ve always wanted.

What’s important is, figuring out what you love, finding the right opportunity and going for that opportunity with everything that you’ve got. Be bold and take a risk, you can do it. Here’s our step by step guide to go for gold.

Figure out what you love – So many of us want a job that allows us to “do what we love” but how many of us actually know for sure what that is? Sometimes it can take a bit of time and a bit of trial and error to work out where your passion truly lies, especially if you’re a recent graduate. Take your time, try a few different roles and even find some work on a voluntary basis for a few hours a week so that you can try a few different aspects.

Be Bold – Don’t be afraid to take a risk and do something a bit ‘out there’ to get the job that you want. If you have your eye in a big company, and you want to get their attention, email anyone you can get an address for and somebody will eventually get back to you. If you see someone you want to work for in a coffee shop, don’t be afraid to go up and introduce yourself, you never know where it will lead.

Get Experience – Once you’re certain of your chosen field, do everything you can to get some experience. Work for free or independently if you have to, you’ll get to where you need to be in the end and it’s only temporary.

Don’t be scared – Taking risks and being bold takes a lot of courage. But you have it in you, trust us. Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams, when you achieve them, you’ll be so glad that you did.

Believe in yourself – Know your worth, have confidence in yourself and have faith in your abilities. You are capable of that dream job, whatever it may be, and there is no reason that you can’t achieve it.
