Work Smarter Not Harder

The latest trend in the world of health & fitness is ‘work smarter not harder.’ So with methods like High Intensity Interval Training and lifting heavily for shorter amounts of time seeming to be so effective, it makes sense that we should apply these principles in our working life.

Too many people put in countless hours at the office, chained to their desks because they have yet to find the way they work best. Finding the way you work best can cut hours out of your work day and make you more efficient than you’ve ever been before.

By putting in a little extra effort in the short term, you can save yourself a lot of grief in the long term.

For instance it doesn’t take that much time to make yourself a to-do list or to make a plan about how you intend to tackle an upcoming project, so be prepared and make a plan. You’ll thank yourself later when you know where to go next and when you tick off the tasks you’ve already completed.

Or, realise that you don’t always have to act immediately. If you can wait a few minutes to respond to an email or speak up in a meeting than do. Use the time to formulate a response or think of a new angle.

Here is an infographic that we found from bitrebels.com to help you formulate your work smarter plan.
