MOURNERS at the funeral of Kathleen McNally, Carrickmore, heard how she had played a key role in the development of Termon Business Park and gave decades of service to her local community.
Originally from Cloughfin, Mrs McNally was honoured by Techno Tyrone for her work at the Business Park. She was a committed community volunteer – active in the Loughmacrory Youth Club, the Patrician Hall committee, and a founding member of the MUCAT committee. She also worked as a home help to elderly neighbours and friends.
Educated locally, she had worked initially in the office of Gormley Engineering in Ballygawley.
Following her early career with Gormley Engineering in Ballygawley, she married Pat McNally and settled in Loughmacrory before moving to Quarry Road, Carrickmore in the mid-1990s.
At her Funeral Mass in St Colmcille’s Church, Fr Peter McAnenly remembered Kathleen as a loving family woman and passionate gardener.
“Her garden gave her such joy,” he said. “One of her grandchildren described Kathleen as calm, caring, and someone whose door was always open.”
Kathleen travelled widely and cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Bernadette.
