Derry-Strabane Enterprise Week makes a welcome return in March, and as local businesses look ahead to brighter times, the 2022 programme focuses on the innovations to aid positive growth and development. This year the programme will run from 7th – 11th March.
Speaking at the launch, Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Graham Warke said.
“This has been an extremely challenging time for local businesses, and thankfully we are really beginning to see a turnaround as restrictions ease. While the recovery has begun, many are seeking new solutions to help build resilience and fast track that process,” he stressed.
“Enterprise Week provides a wealth of resources for local businesses, whatever stage they are at on their journey, to help progress development and tap into new markets.”
“…I would really encourage any local entrepreneur seeking advice to check out the programme and how it can assist them in reaching their next business goal.”
The diverse programme will be delivered in a hybrid format this year with a combination of in person and online workshops and information sessions, making it more accessible to everyone.
It touches on a broad spectrum of priority areas for local business, including marketing, digital technology, and post-pandemic innovation and growth.
One particular event to provide this opportunity is the ‘Business Breakfast’ which takes place on Thursday 10th March at the North West Regional College campus in Strabane.
The event in partnership with Derry City and Strabane District Council, will provide the opportunity to explore the range of support and funding programmes available to local businesses as well as present funding opportunities from BSC and case studies from clients and local businesses who have received support in the past.
Another events of the week that will aid entrepreneurs in developing their business is ‘The Funding Game’ taking place on Friday 11th March at The White Horse Hotel, where Richard Ramsey, Chief Economist of Ulster Bank will provide an economic outlook to ensure you consider all the necessary economic factors when taking the next steps in your business development journey.
Participants will hear from a range of funders on sources of grant funding, finance and business support available through Local Support Agencies, Investors and Banks.
The events will also provide a fantastic opportunity to connect directly with experienced business professionals, and to share learnings and ideas with other local entrepreneurs.
