Former student donates 150 books to Gortin school

PUPILS at St Patrick’s Primary School in Gortin were delighted to receive 150 books based on the topic of diversity.

The books were donated by former pupil, Patrick McCullagh, who won them for the school after entering a Work Education Programme.

Mr McCullagh had nominated his former primary school for the prize.

Large accounting firm, KPMG Ireland, supplied the school with 150 books relating to diversity and ethnicity topics, which each class will incorporate into their lessons.

As part of the prize, KPMG Ireland are also running workshops in the Key Stage One and Two classrooms, based on diversity.

The school said they are delighted with the prize and are very grateful for the kindness of past pupil Patrick for nominating them for the prize.
