20 years of The Celtic Tenors

THREE tenors. One voice… And two decades of bringing some of Ireland’s finest songs, melded with gentle harmonies and unique voices, to people across Tyrone and beyond.

Clap your hands, folks, as next Thursday (February 3), The Celtic Tenors will be celebrating their very special 20-year anniversary with a much-anticipated show at the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh.

The charismatic, globe trotting trio – comprised of Daryl Simpson of Omagh; Matthew Gilsenan; and James Nelson – are the most successful classical crossover act to emerge from Ireland.

Boasting a true world-wide audience, The Celtic Tenors relish playing everywhere, from charming neighbourhood cathedrals, to major concert halls in international cities, like Sydney, New York, or Shanghai.

But, they couldn’t be more delighted to return to Omagh, doing what they do best: Bringing some musical magic in their contagiously charming way.

“We genuinely love what we do,” they told the UH.

“You’ll see that shine through each beautiful Celtic song, such as the ‘Isle of Innisfree’, ‘The Parting Glass’ or the stunning ‘Carrickfergus’.

“We just sing songs we love, and we most certainly don’t take ourselves too seriously. It’s all about the music, the harmonies and the fun.”

Hauntingly-beautiful harmonies

As The Celtic Tenors are comfortable in all genres, from classical and pop, to great Irish folk songs, world-class, good-humoured performances are assured, and hauntingly-beautiful Celtic harmonies, and popular contemporary songs are but second nature.

Excited to bring their Omagh audience on a musical voyage filled with fun and laughter, The Celtic Tenors’ pioneering approach has fostered a fresh and invigorating style which has won them critical acclaim and many fans the world over.

With a polished international reputation and more than a million CDs sold worldwide, The Celtic Tenors offer something truly unique – and next week’s perfomance at the Strule Arts Centre will be absolutely one to savour.

The group may have three unique solo voices, but when called upon – only one tenor sound!

The Celtic Tenors will take to the Strule Arts Centre stage on Thursday, February 3 at 8pm in celebration of their 20 year anniversary. Tickets cost £24 each, and can be purchased from the Strule Arts Centre website, ‘www.struleartscentre.com’.

And don’t forget – the trio’s brand new single, ‘The Rocky Road to Dublin’ is available now on Spotify and Apple Music. Check it out!
