Dungannon singer to compete in television talent show Glór Tíre

PEOPLE across Dungannon and the wider south Tyrone area are being urged to tune in next week and support a local singer bidding for success on a major TV talent show.

Next Tuesday night (Jan 11) Tracy Brennan will be appearing in the popular TG4 reality, country music show Glór Tíre.

Tracy will be mentored on the show by fellow singer Johnny Brady.

Speaking when her appearance on the show was announced, Tracy said she was looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m pleased to take another type of musical journey with one of my best friends who I graced many a stage with for many years – the super talented Mr Johnny Brady. I will be one of Johnny’s contestants on the new series of Glór Tíre ar TG4,” she said.

“Many of you all know I love to sing a wee tune from time to time and love the banter and the craic, this is all very new to me so I would appreciate all of your support and many thanks to those of you who have convinced me to take this challenge.”

The brand new seven-part series features Ireland’s biggest names in Country Music including Johnny Brady, Ciarán Rosney, Olivia Douglas and Mike Denver who will each mentor two contestants and rising stars from all across the island of Ireland for the Glór Tíre title.

Season 18’s TG4, Glór Tíre winner will receive the much sought after title and a cash prize fund of €5,000. In addition the winner will join country music star, Mike Denver and friends for one week of shows and performances in Portugal in 2022 and this is sponsored by Paul Claffey Tours.

At the end of each of these programmes the judges will choose four contestants who are safe in the competition and four contestants who will face the intense public live vote as part of the first elimination. Voting will only open live during the first elimination programme and all votes are zeroed after each elimination.

Ultimately five contestants will make it to the semi-final and three will go on to the final when the winner will be announced on February 22.
