Live events are coming back to The Alley Theatre this September and we can’t wait to welcome all our performers and audiences back.
First up is the fun and lively ‘Reconnecting Outdoor Event for Adults in the Learning Disability Community’ on Saturday 11th September. Previous events in August have been a great success, with lots of dancing in the courtyard with the Energy of Light Disco, circus skills with In Your Space Circus, novelty portraits with caricature drawing and light healthy snacks and refreshments. This is a free event for adults with disabilities, their families and carers however tickets must be pre- booked.
Culture Night Exhibitions
Culture Night makes a welcome return on Friday 17th September, a range of free events to allow us all to come together again. Showing in the gallery are two exhibitions: ‘An Introduction to Flann O’Brien – A Man of Mystery’ This exhibition celebrates the life and works of local writer Brian O’Nolan (Brian O’Nuállain). Better known by his pen names of Flann O’Brien and Myles Na Gopaleen.
He was a novelist, playwright and satirist and is considered as one of the major literary figures in twentieth century Irish literature. Our second exhibition by Hungarian artist Rozália Régerné Sörös with the exhibition ‘Irish Sea and Landscapes’. A beautiful exhibition of oil paintings using a ‘knife’ technique. Exquisite paintings of the Wild Atlantic Way feature heavily in this exhibition with all paintings available to buy.
Culture Night Painting Class
Rozália Régerné Sörös will also be offering a painting class where she will share her skills in oils /acrylics medium and looking at what inspires her vibrant seascapes. Participants require their own paint materials.
Culture Night at the Musicals
For our finale on Culture Night we are delighted to welcome Encore Performing Arts Academy onto the stage with colourful and energetic previews from their upcoming musicals ‘Shrek’ and ‘Leading Ladies’. Places are limited so free tickets must be pre-booked.
Strabane Brass Band
At the end of the month on Wednesday 29th September we cannot wait to hear the vibrant sounds of Strabane Brass Band as they come together for their first live performance back in the Alley in a Cross Border Concert. Expect an evening full of beautiful music.
All our September indoor events are cabaret style seating in the auditorium and for safety precautions tickets must be pre-booked. We have a number of safety measures in place as part of our commitment to the continued health & well-being of our visitors, customers and team members to give you the best possible experience and enjoy all the Alley has offer.
