TikTok star, Stephen ‘Cowboy Lavin’ Kelly, will be joined on the Strule Arts Centre stage next month by two of his former Hardy Bucks mates for a night of hilarious tales and jokes.
Cowboy Lavin, who claims to be the ‘biggest Tik Tokker of his generation’, will share hilarious stories about growing up in Castletown, and life on the road.
The comedian is one of Ireland’s best-known online entertainers, with more than 122,000 followers on the platform.
He will be joined on Friday, April 26, at the Omagh venue by fellow Hardy Bucks legend, Frenchtoast O’Toole, who is known for his love of nature and fishing, and for making political statements.
Aptly titled ‘3 Bucks Left’, their show is a spin-off of County Mayo’s own Hardy Bucks. This satire is laden with comedy and pathos throughout, inspiring many other acts in its wake.
Now a decade later, it remains one of Ireland’s favourite comedy shows.
The Hardy Bucks were first brought together in 2007 for a college project. After sitting on the footage for a year, they uploaded the shorts to YouTube.
The show’s popularity eventually got it commissioned by RTÉ, who took editorial control of the show. It ran for three seasons, and became one of the most popular on the broadcast station. A Hardy Bucks film was released in 2013 centering around Ireland’s 2012 Soccer European Championships run.
And it has, indeed, been a wild ride of ups and downs. Crude, lofty, self-deprecating introspection, coupled with rowdy philosophies. Such misadventures are not for the faint of heart!
The laughter-packed show has been described as ‘ruggedly charming’, extremely funny and riding close to the wind.
