Songbird Aoife is bound for Lifford

Following recent appearances on both The Late Late Show and Today with Maura and Daithi, musician Aoife Scott will play an intimate gig at Lifford Old Courthouse.

The artist will perform on Friday, February 21 as part of a promotional tour for her newly released second album, ‘HomeBird’.

Born into the legendary Black Family, Aoife Scott is steadily rising to the top of the traditional and folk music scene and has long enjoyed success as an established artist in her own right.
HomeBird is already receiving accolades, including being named Album of the Week by RTÉ Radio One. Produced by multi-Grammy Award winner, banjo and guitar virtuoso Ron Block,

Aoife’s second album is in many ways a turning point in her musical legacy.
Recorded in Nashville and Dublin, HomeBird is an impressive collaboration featuring the best of Irish folk and Bluegrass musicians.

Fragile and ethereal one minute and strong and vibrant the next, Aoife’s dynamic and profound vocals explore the emotional depths of her lyrics, leaving the audience entranced.

Recent accolades include being named Best Folk Act at the Irish Post Music Awards in the same category as Christy Moore and the award for Emerging Artist of the Year at the Live Ireland Awards in June 2018.

Her career successes have seen Aoife and her cousins, Róisín O and Danny O’Reilly from The Coronas, release their single ‘Grace’ which went straight to number one on iTunes in Ireland.
Aoife Scott’s single ‘All Along the Wild Atlantic Way’ also hit the number one slot, knocking Ed Sheeran off the top spot and was named Song of the Year at the Irish Folk Music Awards in 2017.

Her Lifford gig is going to be an unmissable one and support on the night will be from Donegal singer-songwriter Amy Meehan who herself has just completed a UK tour supporting Paul Carrack.
