SHOW or no-show? That is the big question for 2022, as the dreaded coronavirus continues to wreak havoc with stage curtains up and down the country.
As it stands, there is a bumper programme of entertainment in store at Cookstown’s popular Burnavon Theatre.
One of the first acts of the year, is Neil Delamere, star of BBC’s The Blame Game, Fighting Talk and the Newsquiz. The Offaly-born comic hits the road again with his riotous new stand-up show, Liminal.
The audience can expect an evening perhaps best described as Schrodinger’s chat as our wisecracking comedic hero struggles to figure out this strange new world.
“You’ll be hard pressed to find a more gifted comic.*****” says The Scotsman of Delamere who will take to the Burnavon stage on Thursday, February 3.
Just over a week later on February 11, it’s the turn of Phil Coulter to entertain the Cookstown audience. He is one of Ireland’s best known and most iconic singer songwriter and producer with a career that not only spans the years, crosses generations, but has reached far across the world.
From performing at The White House, playing live to 600,000 people on Capitol Hill (Washington DC), marching at the head of the St Patrick’s Day Parade in New York to Royal command performances from Japan to Finland, this is just the tip of an extraordinary professional ice berg.

The Carlow man is a multi-recipient of awards for his performances and songwriting, including numerous Sunday World accolades for ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Songwriter of the Year’.
On Saturday, March 5, Philomena Begley widely known as the Queen of Irish Country will play the Burnavon as part of her 60th anniversary celebrations
One of Begley’s biggest fans is Irish superstar Daniel O’Donnell, and he once said, “When Philomena sings a song you believe her, you feel that she’s experienced every emotion she expresses”. Join Philomena for this special show to mark the outstanding career of a true Legend.
Special guests on the show will be Ray Lynam, Hugo Duncan and Aidan Quinn.
