The best of Irish music will soon fill the airwaves of Tyrone, as this year’s Summer Feile is back… and the party will be sizzling hot!
Organised by Joe Gallagher Entertainments, Strabane, in arrangement with St Enda’s GAA, the fun-filled event will feature Ireland biggest Irish Folk group, The High Kings, as well as highly-acclaimed bands, The Whistlin’ Donkeys from Tyrone, and Mindbenders from Derry.
Taking place on Friday, September 3 at O’Neill’s Healy Park, Omagh, a spokeswoman for Joe Gallagher Entertainments said that she hoped the event would build upon the huge success enjoyed at the Summer Feile of 2019.
THE WHISTLIN’ DONKEYS
Hailing from County Tyrone. The Whistlin’ Donkeys need no introduction.
By playing at many concerts and festivals throughout Ireland over the past six years, they have gained thousands of followers – both at home and abroad – and have made quite a name for themselves.
Looking forward to performing locally after some 17 months of lockdown, the band’s vocalist and guitarist, Stephen Corrigan told concert goers to expect a good party as it’s been too long since the Donkeys played in Omagh!
THE HIGH KINGS
Consisting of members Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden, and Paul O’Brien, The High Kings have toured Ireland, the United States, and Europe on multiple occasions – and will certainly add their unique sound to the party!
Their third album, ‘Friends for Life’ contains both traditional Irish songs, as well as some original tracks.
Recently going through a line-up change, the introduction of Paul O Brien has seen the group move from a highly-staged format to a more natural performance style. Although they sing mostly traditional Irish songs, they are known to mix up their sets by singing arrangements of a medley of other genres.
