Tyrone romantics urged to tell their tales of love for new television show

Tyrone folk are being urged to come forward and share their love stories for a new television show, whether it involved an online dating app, a night out in Omagh’s John Street or an office romance.

Maybe the lockdown has actually worked in your favour and helped you find that special one. Here in the Red Hand county, love has always found a way and we all know great tales of romance that would melt any hearts.

Whether you’re head over heels for your partner, bursting with love for your childhood sweetheart or have experienced love at first sight, the brand-new documentary called ‘Northern Irish Love Stories’ wants to showcase some of the greatest love stories from the past 60 years.

This show also wants to explore how dating has changed over the years and welcomes all types of romantic love stories – ranging from first loves, long-distance loves, or meeting ‘the one’ via a dating app.

Following the success of ‘A Northern Irish Christmas’, ‘Northern Irish Holidays’, and ‘Northern Irish Weddings’, the Belfast-based television production company Afro-Mic Productions is making a brand-new documentary for BBC Northern Ireland, celebrating love in all its forms.

SPECIAL MEMORIES

The one-hour documentary will be looking back through special memories with loved ones and featuring some of the greatest love stories from the past or present.

Producers are looking to bring the show to life with personal video footage and photographs so if you have a story to share with the footage or photos to illustrate it, they want you to get in touch.

Emma Rosa-Dias from Afro-Mic Productions called on couples to come forward, “We couldn’t make these shows without the wonderful people who take part by sharing their memories, so it’s fab when we hear their feedback about how enjoyable an experience it is to take a trip down memory lane. I think that’s something we can all relate to!”

Contributors’ safety is essential, which is why filming is done in the comfort of the contributors’ own homes through a contactless filming process abiding by strict, Covid-safe filming regulations.
