THERE are big plans on the horizon or The Garden Depot in Strabane, which is now open for business to the public – and just in time to make your home and garden beautiful this spring and summer.
Indeed make sure and visit the garden centre this Monday (June 1), to celebrate its official opening under the new ownership of John McGuinness from Strabane, who has worked tirelessly over the past number of months to renovate the premises and give the respected company a fresh lease of life.
Renovations have included a complete gutting, rewiring and replumbing of the premises, new counters, displays and a complete re-landscaping of the site.
A GARDEN CENTRE FOR YOU
Aside from selling everything from fragrant, bright flowers and plants to keep your garden looking attractive all year long, the centre also offers customers garden furniture and decorations; garden sheds; swings; outdoor play toys for children; and much more.
The Garden Depot has got a distribution for paving company Acheson and Glover, too, enabling them to provide customers with a full range of paving displays and installation; decking; and decorative stones including sand and granite.
Additionally, an in-house florist to create bespoke bouquets and flower arrangements, with full delivery service, will be available soon. The centre will also offer an in-house cafe to further ensure that all customers’ needs are met. John McGuinness said that he is delighted that his visions for The Garden Centre are taking shape.

“I am so proud of the centre, and I just want to let the good people of Strabane and beyond know that we are now open for business,” he said. “We are offering the best service possible for customers during this Covid-19 crisis, and we’ll continue to provide even more stock once the lockdown is over.”Excitingly, big plans remain on the horizon for The Garden Depot still.“We hope to get flower arranging classes for the evenings set up in the future,” John added. “And at Christmas, we have plans to create a six-week winter wonderland at the premises. It will be one of the North West’s biggest outdoor events, and definitely something not to be missed.”
For now, John has offered his sincerest thanks to all customers for their support during these difficult times.
