A RECYCLING centre in Tyrone will close for around three weeks to allow welfare facilities at the site to be improved, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has announced.
Dromore Recycling Centre is due to close tomorrow (March 9). FODC anticipate it will reopen on March 31.
Council chair, Errol Thompson, said the works were part of FODC’s significant capital investment to improve its infrastructure and waste and recycling assets.
Mr Thompson said, “They will improve the working conditions for staff at the site as well as ensuring a safer environment for residents.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank our residents for their ongoing recycling efforts which helps to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill, ensuring the council can achieve its landfill targets.”
During the period of closure, residents in the Dromore area are encouraged to use Gortrush Recycling Centre in Omagh, which is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.45pm and Saturday from 9am to 6.45pm or Fintona Recycling Centre, which is open Monday to Friday from 11am to 6.45pm and Saturday from 11am to 3.45pm.
The council has apologised for any inconvenience caused during this time.
