Dergview announces partnership with MFC

NIFL Championship side Dergview FC have joined forces with Derrybased sports brand MFC for the upcoming 2021 season.

Having seen the start of their season delayed due to the pandemic, Dergview have been quick to act on the teamwear front, joining MFC – who will provide the official kit and teamwear for this season.

MFC Sports is a teamwear supplier based in Derry, and a company that has been making significant strides in 2020 despite the impact of COVID-19.

Having launched their bespoke ordering system ‘The MFC Link’ during the autumn, MFC have seen over 50,000 unique customers use the link since. Currently, MFC are official suppliers to the LGFA sides of Cavan, Derry, Leitrim and London, as well as being official partners of the Ulster LGFA.

The partnership with Dergview represents a significant step for the company into the football market and is a highlight to conclude a
promising year for the outfit. Dergview, under the guidance of former Northern Ireland international Ivan Sproule, currently play in the NIFL Championship and have seen their own season delayed due to the pandemic. Due to start their season in early January, the Castlederg side have high hopes of achieving promotion to the NIFL Premiership this season.

Sean O’Neill, managing director of MFC, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with one of the senior clubs in the North-West – Dergview FC. The club represents many of the values we promote MFC as – being a tight-knit unit, with a collective goal. Like all our partnerships, we have worked closely with Dergview to develop not only their home and away kits, but also their teamwear range, which went on sale in time for Christmas orders earlier this year.

“The partnership with Dergview also represents a significant move into the football market for MFC. “One of our aims in 2021 is to enhance our standing within the football community, and we look forward to the season ahead with Ivan Sproule’s side.”

Nigel Lecky, director of Dergview, said, “We are pleased to be working with MFC this season. The MFC team have been great throughout the whole process, and we are delighted with the quality and design of our kit and teamwear. It’s been a difficult year for everyone, and with some kind of light at the end of the tunnel in sight in terms of seeing our senior team in action again, it’s great to know that they’ll be wearing a kit developed locally by a local company.”
