Claire O’Hanlon who is the TEDxCookstown licensee and curator said the event was an important opportunity to showcase the talent within the Mid Ulster area.
“Bringing the TEDx platform to Cookstown is very exciting for the area.
“It is the first time that the platform has came to rural Mid Ulster and to think that we are bringing the voices of leading thinkers in the region to global audiences is amazing,” she said.
Mid Ulster District Council is one of the sponsors for the event. Chair of the council Cllr Cathal Mallaghan said, “The Council is delighted to be a key sponsor to bring this TEDx event to Mid Ulster, amplifying local expertise on a global scale.
“TEDx offers a highly innovative approach, bringing together key speakers to offer their unique and diverse reflections on current issues and sparking deep discussion on potential solutions.
