Omagh Credit Union urges you to support local business

OMAGH Credit Union Limited urges their members to support local businesses and encourage one another so that we can reshape our future to the best we know that it can be.

Members’ savings in the Credit Union are described as shares. Each share is entitled to an annual dividend when the Credit Union has an annual surplus.

At the end of every financial year, after paying overheads, Credit Unions give all the remaining annual surplus back to members in the form of a dividend. This ensures that, any surplus that is made by OCU, stays within our town and does not go to large financial institutions.

It is worth emphasising that a Credit Union Account is a Life Insurance Policy. So it is important that members keep their accounts up to date as a priority!

At Omagh Credit Union Ltd, the prime aim is to navigate this current health crisis in as an informed manner as is possible. This Credit Union have had to comply with all legislation and advice issued by the Government and all the regulatory bodies – sometimes having to change conditions of how the Credit Union operates to keep our members safe!

By doing so, staff are permitted to operate the John Street office six days a week when members were welcome to personally conduct their accounts. Members are also facilitated on two phone lines, a service which has proved very popular!

Every one of us is entering un-chartered waters and we do not know what is in store for us all. Members, with a loan, are asked to PLEASE continue their repayments as per the promise they made when granted their loan.

The cycle of borrowing and repaying is the very lifeblood of all Credit Unions. The Credit Union is very much aware that some of its members are facing financial hardship but you are implored to contact your Credit Union if you get into money difficulties – this Credit Union promises it will do all in its power to help. Confidentially is the hallmark of our Credit Union!
