Recruitment process begins for new GP at Trillick and Dromore surgery

A MEETING has taken place between the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) and local politicians to discuss a new GP for the Trillick and Dromore Surgery.

It follows the announcement that Dr Declan Morgan has informed the HSCB of his intention to resign on March 31.

The HSCB is currently advertising for a new GP to come on board.

Local Sinn Fein councillor, Stephen McCann, said the surgery is a ‘significant GP practice’ which has 6,000 patients.

“It is absolutely vital that there is a continuity of service delivery past March this year,” he added.

“I welcome the fact that the HSCB are providing support at this time to the practice and that the recruitment process has already begun. It is of great importance to the local community to see stability return to the practice and that additional resources are made available to ensure that they remain sustainable and meet the needs of both communities in the years to come.”
