Tributes have poured in from across Tyrone and the entire GAA community after the shocking news that top goalkeeper Johnny Curran from Coalisland had died suddenly this morning (Sunday).
Mr Curran, who was 33, was between the posts when Tyrone won the All Ireland minor final in 2004 and was also on the senior panel that won the Sam Maguire Cup in 2008.
For his club Coalisland Fianna, he was on the team that won the O’Neill Cup in 2010 as well as an U21 championship winner in 2007.
A fabulous goalkeeper, he also played with Dungannon Swifts, the highlight an Irish Cup semi-final appearance when they lost narrowly to Linfield. However it was in Gaelic football he earned his reputation as a top keeper.
Players and members of Coalisland Fianna posted tributes on social media and spoke of their “heartbreak and devastation” at his passing.
