THE Sion Mills Preservation Trust will host its latest heritage talk on Thursday, May 15, with a focus on village regeneration and the power of community-led transformation.
Inspired by the old adage, “It takes a village to rear a child,” the talk will explore how strong community ties can be harnessed to revitalise rural areas. From planting trees and flowers to leading local initiatives, residents can take pride in shaping the physical and social fabric of their village.
Guest speakers Catherine Fegan and Andy Peters from Rathfriland Regeneration will share real-life examples of successful projects in villages similar to Sion Mills.
Their insights aim to inspire locals to imagine and implement positive changes in their own community.
The event takes place at 7.30pm in the Heritage Education Centre at the Stables, Sion Mills.
Everyone is welcome to attend and contribute ideas for a brighter village future.
