Boost for Omagh’s mental health facilities

THE Health Minister, Robin Swann, has confirmed that a £400,000 investment in the mental health facilities at the Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital in Omagh will be spent before the end of the financial year in April.

He had made the announcement during a visit to the town in the summer, and has now outlined the boost for the Elm, Lime and PICU wards at the hospital.

In a statement issued to the West Tyrone SDLP MLA, Daniel McCrossan, Mr Swann said the improvement works would take place at the mental health inpatient facilities.

He added that the projects are currently going through the procurement process and are due to be completed by March 31, 2022.

Mr McCrossan welcomed the announcement.

He said; “It is important that our Mental Health support facilities are as good as they can be, and this money will improve the inpatient facilities across the Omagh end of West Tyrone,” he said.
