Two luxury BMWs stolen in Strabane in the same week

POLICE are appealing for anyone with information regarding the theft of a luxury car from Mourne Manor in Strabane at around 3am on Friday morning to come forward immediately.
The purple BMW M4 which was stolen from the quiet Strabane park became the second vehicle in a week to fall into the hands of car thieves operating in the town.
The first came on Monday (28th February) when a white BMW X5, registration number CD0 8ETH, was reported stolen from Glenview Manor in Strabane shortly after 2:05am.
Police say they are continuing to investigate both thefts, which they believe could be linked.
Asking the public to remain vigilant, the PSNI spokesperson said the purple BMW M4 pictured, registration number R50 0LAN, has had a spoiler fitted since the photograph was taken.
“If you’ve seen this vehicle, or know where it is, call us on 101.
They continued, “This is the second report of theft of a vehicle in our District this week. On Monday (28th February)
“Having your vehicle stolen is extremely distressing.”
They then offered some advice to vehicle owners, especially those with keyless cars.
“Please follow these few simple steps to keep the thieves away because with advances in technology thieves are now able to gain access to your vehicle by redirecting the wireless signal from your key fob.
“Where possible, keep your car in a garage or lock your driveway gates.
“Establish a routine to help keep your vehicle safe, including using your garage if available to secure your vehicle., and use physical car locks such as steering column locks and chains, as well as keeping all car keys (including spares) away from exterior doors and walls.
“And finally, use a blocking pouch, also called a Faraday pouch (lined with metallic material), to help block the wireless signal from your key fob.”
The PSNI spokesperson concluded by reminding members of the public that, if they see something that’s just not right, to call the police immediately.
“The quicker we know, the faster we can respond.”
