Woman rescued from Tyrone house fire dies in hospital

THE woman who was rescued from a house fire outside Dungannon on Monday night has died in hospital.

The blaze at a property on Annaghbeg Road was reported to police shortly after 10:20pm on Monday October 19, and police and other emergency services responded to the incident.  

The woman who was inside the house was taken to safety outside where an officer assisted with administering first aid.

The woman, who was the only person inside the house, was then taken to hospital where she passed away on Wednesday evening.

Detective Inspector Paul Robinson said, “Police can confirm that a woman, aged in her 50s, has died following a fire at a house in the Annaghbeg Road area of Dungannon on Monday evening, October 19.

“Police received a report of a fire at a house at around 10.25 pm on Monday.

“The woman was taken to hospital for treatment but has since sadly passed away.”
