Would you like to begin sixth form at Omagh Academy?

WITH a proven track record at A Level, Omagh Academy is now welcoming enquiries from new students who are considering commencing study in Year 13.

Beginning A-Level study is exciting, but it can also be daunting. However, within the supportive and friendly environment of the school, pupils are encouraged to aim high, and to have confidence in themselves and their ability to succeed.

Established in 1903, Omagh Academy is proud of its tradition – but it is also forward-thinking, embracing change to prepare students for the future.

With a range of 27 subjects on offer, students are taught by a team of dedicated staff who monitor and support learning in a caring environment, where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Sixth Form life begins with an ‘Induction Programme’ to prepare students for their new courses. This prominent level of support continues throughout the year, particularly with specialist careers guidance and advice; interview technique; CV preparation; and workshops – all which help to prepare students for entry to third-level education or placement in the world of work.

The school values the contributions that pupils make to its extracurricular life, and actively encourages involvement in a wide variety of clubs and societies including sports, music, and drama. Many students also opt to take part in a series of Enrichment Courses alongside their timetabled classes, such as Young Enterprise; Mandarin; Community Care; Eco- Schools; and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, to create new skills and nurture older ones.

Pupils are challenged beyond the classroom, too, through societies including the History and Politics Society; the Psychology Society; the Debating Society; and Agriculture Club.
