Edendork 1-17 Rock 1-12
In an enthralling Saturday afternoon clash, Edendork defeated Rock by five points.
There were plenty of twists and turns in this match.
Both teams made quick starts and the game was 0-1 apiece after the first two minutes.
Edendork had the better of the opening stages and led 0-5 to 0-2 after the first ten minutes or so.
The game swung in the Rock’s favour after Padraig Ward found the net, and they stretched their lead to 1-6 to 0-6.
However, Edendork had a stronger finish to the half, and two Darren McCurry points in injury time left the score at 1-6 to 0-8.
They started the better in the second half and had a penalty pushed over the bar by Rock keeper James McAuley. The Rock reeled off four points in a row to stay in front 1-11 to 0-11.
Harry Og Conlon’s impact was huge as his goal and point gave Edendork the lead. That lead was stretched to 1-13 to 1-11 by Conor Mallon and Darren McCurry.
Liam Nugent would get another for Rock to make it 1-14 to 1-12, but from there Edendork saw out the game.
