CLUBS have until 4pm tomorrow (Fri) to get back to the Tyrone County Board with their opinions on what format the 2020 Adult Football Leagues should take- including an option to do away with relegation- and whether they intend to participate at all.
The prolonged delay in finalising the groupings and fixtures for the new look ACL centres on the potential repercussions facing teams who wish to ‘opt out’ of competitions.County Secretary Dominic McCaughey stated a fortnight ago in the document presenting the revised programme of fixtures at adult and youth levels that ‘participation in Gaelic Games is a matter of choice for each individual player and for each team – any team, or any individual, may decide to opt out during the current season’.With clubs having subsequently sought further clarity on this comment, the County Management Committee decided at a meeting on Tuesday night to further consult clubs in respect of the adult league fixtures.It presented two proposals for consideration.
