Ardboe to meet Dungannon in quarter final

ARDBOE will meet Dungannon in the Tyrone senior championship quarter final after both recorded first round victories against Donaghmore and Loughmacrory respectively.

There was drama and excitement in abundance at the end of Ardboe’s clash against Donaghmore in an intriguing encounter when Ardboe held out to progress despite a brave comeback by their opponents which almost sent the game to extra time.

A dominant display in the third quarter laid the foundations for the eventual victory for the Rossas. But they had to live on their nerves Donaghmore suddenly found a new lease of life in the closing stages.

In the first game of the day on Saturday, a dominant spell in extra time saw Dungannon come from the brink of an imminent loss to seal their place in the senior quarter final following this enthralling tussle in the sunshine of a Saturday afternoon.

Goals courtesy of Kiefer Morgan and Patrick Quinn saw them grab the initiative. They emerged winners by 10 points at the finish, but the scoreline in no way does justice to the efforts of an unfortunate Loughmacrory who came within seconds of winning in normal time.
