Body found in search for missing man in Tyrone village

A BODY has been recovered from dense woodland just outside Seskinore by PSNI and volunteers searching for missing Cookstown man, Jason Coles.

The 36 year-old went missing on Tuesday and was last seen in the Main Street area of Pomeroy. A car believed to belong to him was found in a field on the outskirts of Seskinore.

The PSNI said the remains were discovered yesterday (Saturday) evening. It is understood that they were then removed from the scene in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

It follows days of intensive searches in the area of Seskinore Forest Park.

The Community Search and Rescue team and PSNI searches included derelict buildings within the forest, ponds and a large area of dense woodland on both sides of the main Omagh to Seskinore Road.
